SmartHER: Female Athlete Health at the EIS

The English Institute of Sport (EIS) has prioritised opening up conversations amongst athletes, coaches and staff in high performance sport around female athletes’ menstrual cycle and its possible effects, as well as offering expertise to help elite British female athletes be healthy, happy and deliver world class performances.

In our SmartHER video, Emma Ross and Richard Burden of the EIS Physiology team speak about the work they are doing around female athlete health to encourage athletes, coaches and support staff to have conversations and consider female physiology and psychology in training, recovery, nutrition and the coaching environment, in order to improve the health and performance outcomes for female athletes.
